Üga Büga is a Virginia based heavy metal band, comprised of singer/guitarist Calloway Jones, bassist Niko Cvetanovich, and drummer Jimmy Czywczynski. Influenced by bands such as High on Fire and Mastodon, the trio combines their eclectic backgrounds in prog, metal, blues, punk and country rock to create a unique, forceful sound aimed towards sludge, stoner, and thrash metal sensibilities. Riding high after their 2024 debut album “Year of the Hog” placed on Doom Charts, Üga Büga has a follow-up full length record planned to drop in 2025.
Performing rigorously across Virginia and its surrounding states, Üga Büga has quickly gained a reputation as a sonic outlier. This has led to many opportunities such as opening for national touring acts such as Darkest Hour and King Buffalo, playing Does it Doom's Seismic Summer Fest, and recently releasing a beer collaboration with SuperFly Brewing Co. Almost all subgenres have been thrown around by audience members and peers in regards to Üga Büga, but the underlying consensus seems to be two words: unique and heavy.
